05 Feb Amendments to the list of prescribed persons for whistleblowing

A disclosure may be protected disclosure if it is made to a person who is prescribed to receive disclosures (a prescribed person) and certain requirements are met. A statutory list of prescribed persons was introduced on 1 October 2014 by the Public Interest Disclosure (Prescribed Persons) Order 2014 (SI 2014/2418).

On 1 February 2016, the Public Interest Disclosure (Prescribed Persons) (Amendment) (No.2) Order 2015 (SI 2015/1981) amended the statutory list of prescribed persons to include a number of new bodies to whom a protected disclosure could be made. The Public Interest Disclosure (Prescribed Persons) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 2015 (SI 2015/1981).
