If you’re reading this, the chances are you’re having issues with your employer. You’re not alone and we can help.
Maybe you have been bullied, harassed, or badly treated. Perhaps you feel discriminated against or feel you’ve been constructively or unfairly dismissed. This might have been going on for a while or come out of nowhere. Either way, you are probably feeling like you can no longer cope with your employment situation and feel stuck, anxious, scared, or depressed.
Perhaps your employer has suspended you and started an investigation or disciplinary proceedings against you. You might be worried sick that they will discipline you or, worse still, dismiss you.
If your employer has given you a settlement agreement or mentioned one to you, you must take independent legal advice from a relevant advisor for it to be legally binding. By signing a settlement agreement you are agreeing not to take any legal action against your employer, and, in return, your employer is agreeing to pay you a sum of money.
A relevant advisor includes a solicitor with a current practicing certificate (our solicitors are qualified for this), and it is customary for your employer to make a contribution towards your legal costs. Please see our Settlement Agreements page for more information.
Whatever the issue, ELS Solicitors can help.
